      Grade seven, The Life of Grace, again provides an overview of the big picture but with an emphasis on grace and virtue as well as the interplay or reason and faith. Eighth graders learn about the Church's history, structure, and functions; the mystical body; Christian life; sacraments of service; and last things in the volume titled Our Life in.   I love the Bible, but the truth is that most of the time, I feel overwhelmed and unmoored when I’m dropped smack-dab in the middle of that big book. Of course, nothing can replace the Scriptures—nothing else contains the words of life—but I’m realizing that, more often than not, I need a gentle voice to guide my meditation.

      The Bible is a great place to fill your faith reserves—whether you're looking for calming verses about patience, need a boost via uplifting Bible verses about love, or desire some comforting verses about worry. There's a reason they call it the "Good Book"—it's great for getting us out of our bad spots and into better frames of mind.
